Our facilty: Clean and Spacious

CrossFit Deerfield Beach provides nearly 5000sq feet of floor space for group and personal athletic style coaching to individuals seeking to reach the peak of their fitness. Our facility is located in the heart of Deerfield Beach, close to the beach and Aquatic Center which allows us to offer beach and pool workouts in addition to our regular CrossFit classes. Our coaches speak Portuguese, Spanish, German and English.

The value we offer is exemplified in our distinct training philosophy and genuine care for each student. Through our instructions, interactions, and discussions with our members, we strive to teach our clients about our passion with our utmost sincerity and dedication to their success. Gabriele Schlicht – Owner & CrossFit Champion

Meet of CrossFit Champions: Annie Thorisdottir & Gaby Schlicht

Gabriele (Gaby) Schlicht is a CrossFit Game Champion and the owner of CrossFit Deerfield Beach. When she was first introduced to CrossFit in 2007, she quickly realized she had found her passion. It was not long before she started working as a coach, building up her portfolio of certifications and entering competitions.

With no athletic back ground but a passion for the sport, Gaby drove to Melbourne, FL to compete in the first South Regionals. This started her path to the CrossFit Games where she accomplished her goal winning 1st place in the international 2013 CrossFit Masters’ competition.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work divided by time—or power. The more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness.

Overall, the aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness supported by measurable, observable and repeatable results. The program prepares trainees for any physical contingency—not only for the unknown but for the unknowable, too. Our specialty is not specializing.

While CrossFit challenges the world’s fittest, the program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of experience. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change the program. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.

Do I have to be in shape to take CrossFit classes?

There is a common misconception that CrossFit is for elite athletes. The truth is that it is for everyone. Sure, we say that we are “forging elite fitness,” and we are. This means that you start the journey where you are today. And, if you stay on our path it’s likely that you will get in to the best physical, emotional and mental shape of your life. Our community is comprised of competitive athletes, former athletes, working professionals, stay-at-home parents, people that had never stepped foot into a gym and people with physical ailments. Our program is the most efficient, most effective regimen for everyone. Allow us to get you into the best shape of your life.

I have past injuries. Can I still do CrossFit?

We are not doctors (and we highly recommend you discuss any exercise plan with your medical professionals) we do however, have many members who have successfully used CrossFit to get into shape and get back from injuries. Our high-level coaches are there every step of the way to aid you in scaling or modifying workouts to make sure you are not being put in any painful or compromising positions.

What should I bring?

You will need clothing for exercise (shorts, t shirt, and sneakers) and a towel.

What if I have never worked out before (or haven’t worked out in 10+ years)?

We will take great care of you! Our expert coaches will scale and modify to make sure you are doing the right exercise and intensity level for you from day 1. If you are still nervous please come in and speak with one of our coaches or observe a running class to see what CrossFit is really like at CrossFit Deerfield Beach.

Do you offer personal training sessions?

Yes, we have many t-shirts, shorts, pants, and CrossFit accessories in stock in our store.

Do you have showers?

Yes. CrossFit Deerfield Beach has a shower in our lounge bathroom open to all members for their convenience!

What is CrossFit Deerfield Beach Barbell Club?

CrossFit Deerfield Beach Barbell Club is a weightlifting club focused on the Olympic Lifts in the sport of weightlifting (Snatch and Clean and Jerk) and the strength movements associated with the lifts. Barbell Club meets twice a week. This class is offered to members and non-members.
